FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to wait 6 hours before wearing my contact lenses?
Yes, if lenses are worn prior to the completion of the 6-hour neutralizing period, you may experience burning or redness of the eye.
Can I use any lens case for storing my contact lenses?
No, only use the lens case containing the platinum disc neutralizer when using AquaClear® 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Solution to ensure proper cleaning and disinfection.
Can I re-use the solution left in the case or top it off with new solution?
No, failure to discard solution from the case after each use may lead to inadequate disinfection potentially resulting in eye injury and loss of vision.
Can I rinse my contact lenses with AquaClear® 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Solution and then immediately wear them?
No, never rinse your contact lenses with AquaClear® 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Solution and immediately wear them. This may cause burning and redness of the eye. Let your lenses soak for at least 6 hours in the special lens case provided so that the solution can properly complete neutralization.
How often should I replace my lens case?
Dispose of your hydrogen peroxide lens case after 31 uses or 1 month of daily use.
Can I wear my contact lenses if they’ve been soaking for more than 24 hours?
If your contact lenses have been stored in AquaClear® 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Solution for more than 24 hours, repeat the disinfection and 6-hour neutralization process again following the directions for use.
What if my eyes burn after I put my contact lenses in?
Remove your contact lenses immediately and flush your eyes with a large amount of water or sterile saline. If burning or irritation continues, seek immediate assistance from an eye care professional.

May Vision Center recommends Lumify over other OTC redness reducers due to its safety and its ability to selectively target redness. Unlike drops containing Tetrahydrozine, it does not have the potential to cause a rebound effect or worsening of redness symptoms.

Nuretin
Omega-3 fatty acids are thought to help reduce the risk of heart disease and also to promote healthy skin. They are also used along with diet and exercise to help lower levels of a certain blood fat (triglyceride) and to raise levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL). This product may also be used to help treat high blood pressure of rheumatoid arthritis.

May Vision Center recommends Nuretin to patients with diabetes as it has shown to promote health retinal tissue in the back of the eye and maintain healthy retinal blood vessels to reduce the risk and slow the onset of diabetic retinopathy.
Oasis Tears
PRESERVATIVE-FREE LUBRICANT EYE DROPS
Lubricant eye drops are artificial tears that replace the moisture that is lost on your eyes surface. The viscousness of artificial tears such as Oasis TEARS® PLUS and Oasis TEARS® lubricate the eyes to relieve the gritty dry sensations that cause irritation. Doctors often recommend preservative-free artificial tears such as these. Oasis TEARS® can be used as needed to relieve dry eye symptoms.

May Vision Center recommends Oasis Tears to patients because it is a professional grade artificial tear that lasts longer on the eye. Also, it does not have the potential to damage the outer layer of the cornea because it does not contain preservatives.
Pataday
How Does Pataday Work?
Pataday works two ways. It goes to work on mast cells in the eye. (Mast cells house the histamines that make your eyes itch.) Pataday stabilizes the mast cells, preventing them from releasing histamines. Pataday also blocks histamines that have already been released from attaching to the histamine (H1) receptors in the eye, breaking the chain of allergic reaction. Less histamines means less allergy eye itch.

How it works
